About me

Hello, I’m Ana Luisa Passalacqua Tonidandel, born and raised in Brazil, with Italian and German roots. My journey into photography began many years ago, in the era before digital cameras. Initially, it was a hobby—a means to release stress and let creativity flow.

Being somewhat shy, photography became my preferred method of storytelling, capturing moments from various facets of life such as places, travels, people, architecture, and the wonders of mother nature. Encouraged by positive feedback, I decided to take my passion more seriously, transitioning into portrait work, teaching both adults and children, and covering events.

Having a background in auditing, accounting, and economics, I never allowed much space for art or creativity until I worked for an airline and traveled globally. This change in lifestyle enabled me to express my stories through photography.

After relocating to London, I got married and we had two daughters. Moving to South Korea for 4 1/2 years became a photographic dream coming true, inspiring my first big project—a photography book titled “South Korea, Busan thru my eyes.”

Next stop was Indonesia, where I explored some of the 17,000 islands. Despite the challenges, I delved into intense professional experiences, focusing on new adventures and a lot of research.

Subsequently, our journey took us from South to North, from east to west, from warm to cold, from light to dark, and from poverty to equality. Norway was my home for almost 8 years and, funny enough, I am back in South Korea now, but this time, living in Seoul. So much to explore, learn and conquer

My journey in photography travels alongside with all the places I have lived and travelled in my life. I am always ready to tell a story, whether out exploring, working or even editing.
